• Death Valley Road is closed from 280 Death Valley to Harris Road by a large tree and lines down.

• Active, sparking lines down at 783 Center Minot Hill Road  — closed from Highland Drive to Marston Hill

• They are assessing Goodwin Road.

• Tree in wires near 63 Shaw Hill Road.

CMP reported 593 power outages in Minot at 1:39 p.m.

UPDATED NOON —  The town of Leeds reports a large tree and wires are down on Lakeshore Drive. They ask motorists to avoid the area.

UPDATED 11:14 AM — The town of Minot reports Pottle Hill Road is blocked by a downed tree and wires near Hemond’s Dairy. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route and not attempt to drive over the blockage.

UPDATED 11:02 AM — The Press Herald reports that the Old Orchard Beach fire department confirmed fire chiefs were performing a water rescue on a flooded home.

UPDATED 7:46 AM — Emily Allen at the Press Herald reports that power was out for more than 44,000 Central Maine Power users statewide as of 9 a.m. Friday, including 15,700 in Cumberland County and nearly 13,000 in York County.

THURSDAY NIGHT — Sun Journal’s Mark LaFlamme warned that the storm with its high winds, cold temperatures and flooding is apt disrupt a whole lot of Christmas plans.

THURSDAY AFTERNOON — Jessica Lowell of the Kennebec Journal writes that Friday’s rain combined with snow melt could mean flooding from rivers and streams.
