BETHEL — Telstar Rebels stayed in it until the end, but Lisbon pulled away late in an 11-8 victory last Thursday. The game was tied at six with Lisbon batting in the bottom of the sixth when Telstar Rebels collected 10 hits and Lisbon had six in the high-scoring affair.
Lisbon took an early lead in the second inning. Brayden grounded out, scoring two runs.
Telstar Rebels evened things up at six in the top of the fifth inning. Telstar Rebels scored one run when Gage B singled.
After Telstar Rebels scored one run in the top of the third, Lisbon answered with one of their own. Telstar Rebels scored when Brennan W singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. Lisbon then answered when Joedy grounded out, scoring one run.
Lincoln toed the rubber for Lisbon. The fireballer lasted seven innings, allowing 10 hits and eight runs while striking out seven.
Connor D was on the mound for Telstar Rebels. The pitcher surrendered five runs on zero hits over two innings, striking out three. Brennan and Wyatt Nickerson entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three innings and one inning respectively.
Brennan and Connor each collected multiple hits for Telstar Rebels. Brennan led Telstar Rebels with three hits in three at bats. Telstar Rebels tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Bear Otten led the way with three.
Lincoln went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Lisbon in hits. JT led Lisbon with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 12 stolen bases.
