Even though Telstar Varsity Rebels gave up three runs in the first inning, they still defeated Boothbay 8-5 on Wednesday, April 20. Kristen and Harkins each had RBIs in the frame.
Boothbay captured the lead in the second inning. Boothbay scored one run when Canada singled.
The Rebels took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third, Colby Hastings doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, Andrew Leighton singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Wyatt Lilly singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Wil Doyle led the Rebels to victory on the mound. The pitcher went four and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out eight. Cameron Palmer threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Harkins took the loss for Boothbay. Harkins lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out three and walking zero.
Kristen started the game for Boothbay. The pitcher allowed seven hits and six runs over three and a third innings, striking out eight.
The Rebels racked up 10 hits. Lilly, Palmer, and Doyle each collected multiple hits for Telstar.
Canada went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Boothbay in hits. Boothbay stole nine bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Canada led the way with three.
