Many Maine parishes are planning Divine Mercy Sunday celebrations for Sunday, April 24, including the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, veneration of the Divine Mercy image, the sacrament of reconciliation, and the recitation of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, according to a news release from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland.

Here is a list of many of the Divine Mercy Sunday celebrations scheduled for around the diocese (in alphabetical order by city/town) on April 24, unless otherwise noted. All are welcome at any celebration:

Ashland
A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will be held at 1 p.m. at St. Mark Church, 13 Allen Farm Road. The celebration will feature adoration, benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, veneration of the Divine Mercy image, a recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and more.

Augusta
A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will be held at 3 p.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 41 Western Ave. The Holy Hour will feature exposition and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, veneration of the Divine Mercy image, a recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and the opportunity for reconciliation.

Bangor
St. Paul the Apostle Parish’s Youth Ministry will host an Hour of Power, including a sung Divine Mercy Chaplet, at at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at St. Mary Church, 768 Ohio St. There will also be the opportunity for reconciliation. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and benediction will also be offered.

St. Mary Church will also host a Divine Mercy Celebration at 3 p.m. The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be sung and reconciliation will be offered.

Bath
A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will be held at St. Mary Church, 144 Lincoln St., starting at 2 p.m., with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. A Holy Hour will start at 2:30 p.m., during which confessions will be offered from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Fr. Patrick Agbodi will offer a reflection during the Holy Hour, “Loving Those who Cause Us Suffering.” The gathering will also include readings from St. Faustina’s diary, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, and light refreshments.

Belfast
A Holy Hour, including the Divine Mercy Chaplet, will be held at 2:45 p.m., at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 81 Court St.

Bridgton
A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., at St. Joseph Church, 225 South High St.

Bucksport
A Divine Mercy Sunday Celebration will be held at 3 p.m., at St. Vincent de Paul Church,64 Franklin St.

Camden
A Holy Hour, including the Divine Mercy Chaplet, will be held at 2:45 p.m., at Our Lady of Good Hope Church, 7 Union St.

Cherryfield
The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be prayed before the 10:30 a.m., Mass at St. Michael Church, 51 Elm St.

Falmouth
A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will be held at 3 p.m., at Holy Martyrs of North America Church, located on 266 Foreside Road. The celebration will feature adoration, benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, veneration of the Divine Mercy image, a recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, meditation, and litanies. Reconciliation will be offered starting at 2 p.m. The event will also be livestreamed.

Fort Kent
A Holy Hour with eucharistic adoration and benediction will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. at St. Louis Church, 26 East Main St. There will also be an opportunity for the sacrament of reconciliation.

Greenville
A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will be held at Holy Family Church, 145 Pritham Ave., following the 8 a.m. Mass. It will also be available via livestream.

Houlton
A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will be held at St. Mary of the Visitation Church, 110 Military St. Reconciliation will be available from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament begins at 2:30 p.m., and a chanted recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet starts at 3 p.m. Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will begin at 3:30 p.m.

Lewiston
A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will be held from 3 to 3:30 p.m. at the Basilica of Ss. Peter & Paul, 122 Ash St. The celebration will include the praying of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, the Litany of Divine Mercy, readings from Scripture and St. Faustina’s diary, and the opportunity for the sacrament of reconciliation. In addition, on Sundays through May 8, following the 10:30 a.m. Mass at the basilica, parishioners will gather outside at the St. Joseph statue to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

Machias
The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be prayed before the 8:30 a.m. Mass at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 8 Free St.

Old Town
The Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord will host a Divine Mercy Sunday celebration at Holy Family Church, 429 Main St. A Holy Hour, including the opportunity for reconciliation, will begin at 2 p.m. followed by the praying of the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3 p.m.

Pittsfield
A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will be held at St. Agnes Church, 238 Detroit St., with adoration starting at 2:30 p.m. followed by a recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3 p.m.

Portland
A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will be held at 3 p.m. at St. Louis Church, 279 Danforth St. The celebration will include adoration, confessions, Scripture readings, and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. After the 11:30 a.m. Mass, there will also be a guided pisanki workshop to participate in the beautiful Polish tradition of Easter egg decorating.

Rockland
A Holy Hour, including the Divine Mercy Chaplet, will be held at 2:45 p.m. at St. Bernard Church, 150 Broadway.

Rumford
A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will be held at St. Athanasius & St. John Church, 126 Maine Ave., starting at 1:45 p.m. with adoration, veneration of the image of Divine Mercy, a presentation, recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and community social time.

Saco
A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will be held at 3 p.m. at Most Holy Trinity Church, 271 Main St.

Saint Agatha
Parishioners will gather at St. Agatha Church, 379 Main St., every day at 3 p.m. through Saturday, April 23, to pray the Divine Mercy Novena.

Sanford
A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will be held at 3 p.m. at Holy Family Church, 66 North Ave.

Scarborough
A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will be held at 3 p.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 150 Black Point Road.

Skowhegan
A Divine Mercy Holy Hour will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. at Notre Dame Church, 273 Water St. The celebration will include eucharistic adoration, the recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and the opportunity for the sacrament of reconciliation.

South Berwick
A Divine Mercy Sunday celebration will be held at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 162 Agamenticus Road, and will include a presentation, recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and refreshments.
