LEWISTON — A Bates College student was hit by an automobile Saturday night while he was apparently in the crosswalk at Russell and Bardwell streets in Lewiston, according to police.
Max Cavallaro, 21, was crossing Russell Street from Bardwell Street at 10:09 p.m. when hit by a vehicle driven by Matt Morneau, 42, according to Derrick St. Laurent, public information officer for the Lewiston Police Department.
Police said they did not know exactly where Cavallaro was in the crosswalk when hit.
Cavallaro was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with minor injuries, according to St. Laurent.
Morneau was not hurt.
The incident remained under investigation Sunday, St. Laurent said.
