Tipton Edgecomb, left, and his sister, Talby, play Sunday on a family of turkeys in Sabattus. The Edgecomb’s great-grandmother, Donna Castonguay, began the tradition of hay bale turkeys each Thanksgiving in 2000. Tom and Deidra Edgecomb, the children’s parents, have since taken over the job of placing the four turkeys each year at the corner of Lisbon and Jordan Bridge roads. The hay bales will become a display of reindeer after Thanksgiving, Deidra Edgecomb says. Daryn Slover/Sun Journal
