PORTLAND — Avery Lutrzykowski scored three consecutive goals, two in the second period, to pace St. Dominic Academy to a 5-2 victory over Cape Elizabeth/Waynflete/South Portland in girls’ hockey action on Wednesday at Troubh Ice Arena.
Sophia Venditti opened the scoring on a goal from Koto Yamada 2:22 into the first period for the Capers (2-2).
Venditti added a second goal (assisted by Nicolette Coupe) early in the third to cut the deficit to 3-2, before Lucy Frenette and Taryn Cloutier rounded out the scoring for the Saints (1-1).
Emma Theriault notched two assists for St. Dom’s, while Lutrzykowski, Gigi Ouellette, Emma Roy and Addie Suckow all added one apiece.
Katherine Blackburn stopped 25 shots for the Capers, while Maddi Boulet recorded 33 saves for the Saints.
