DEAR SUN SPOTS: Driving back from a hike yesterday I noticed that the sign for Marta’s Bakery in Waterford is missing and has been replaced with a “For Sale” sign. Did Marta’s Bakery move? If so, where did it go? That bakery is completely amazing! I hope it did not close for good.

ANSWER: The telephone number for the bakery has been disconnected and when I called the Waterford Town Office, they were as surprised as the rest of us are. Marta, if you see this, the fans of your delicious baked goods need to know what’s happened! Readers, if you have any information to share, please spill it.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Moxie Festival Committee is gearing up for the 2019 event. We all agree last year was one of the best festivals ever. That is, in large part, due to our sponsors and volunteers.

If anyone knows of a business/person(s), who would like to be a sponsor of the festival, please have them contact us.

If anyone would like to be a committee member and have a say in how to improve our beloved event, our first meeting will be on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. Come to the Lisbon Town Hall and enter the building through the police department.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The date for Annual Hartford Fall/Christmas Craft Fair is Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Hartford Town Hall on Route 140, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. We have a couple of tables left to rent for crafters at $10 per table We need to hear from interested crafters very soon.

We have many crafters with excellent wares: hand-painted bottle lamps by artist Jackie Pinette, homemade baked goods, RADA knives and other products. There are wonderful gifts such as crocheted, knit, quilted and sewn items, woodworking items, jewelry, honey, toys, and much more! Lunch items will also be for sale.

This event is sponsored by the Hartford Community Church Women’s Group. We are also collecting for Hartford Food Bank so please bring a canned good, etc. for the collection basket. For more information, please call Arlene at 224-7355.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Rebuilding Together Lewiston/Auburn, in collaboration with Charter Communications, will be distributing Safe and Healthy Home Kits which contain items such as weather-stripping, caulk, night lights, smoke detectors and other items for health and safety. These kits will be distributed to homeowners free of charge at Farwell Elementary School from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22. Concurrently, there will be a Rebuilding Together/Spectrum home repair project happening on Highland Avenue in Lewiston, close to the school.

According to their website, Rebuilding Together L/A Maine is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to assisting homeowners in staying in their homes with dignity by repairing and enhancing the safety of the homes at no charge to the homeowner.
