LISBON — The internationally renowned Mount View Chamber Singers of Maine will perform a free concert at 7 p.m. Friday, May 18, at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 496 Lisbon St. (Route 196).

Based at Mount View High School, they are an a cappella, choral chamber group with five sopranos, five altos, five tenors and five bass singers.

St. Matthew’s will provide free refreshments and desserts after the concert.  The group will accept donations to help fund travel.

The ensemble, directed by David Stevenson, has presented their music to many people and cultures, from Europe to Central America. They recently returned from a tour of Rome, Venice, Florence and Pisa, singing in such venues as the Basilica di San Marco in Venice and St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican.

This 27-year old choral group is known throughout Maine for their annual “Carols in the Round” performances during the Christmas season.
