LEWISTON — Shayne Plummer scored his 100th NA3HL point on a goal and also had an assist as the L/A Nordiques throttled the New England Stars 7-1 on Friday.

Plummer’s goal came on the power play 10:26 into the third period on a dish from Joshua Sanchez for the sixth goal of the game for L/A. His 99th point came on the goal prior, when Plummer assisted on a Connor Kennedy goal 2:43 into the final period.

Zack Mullen led the Nordiques with two goals, both coming in the second period. Mullen earned the first star of the game. JP Chauvin assisted on two goals, the first being on the first goal of the game by Armand O’Keefe.

Stars goalie Tim Pesek made 14 of his 34 saves in the first period, keeping the Stars in the game for the first period. Mullen’s first goal came just prior to the eight minute mark off a Coby Audet assist, opening the floodgates for L/A.

In the third period, after Kennedy and Plummer’s goals, Clifford Ogle scored off a Mullen assist to make it 7-0.

Derek Flynn netted the lone goal for New England, scoring with just under five minutes remaining in the game off a Nate Lapointe assist.

Broda saved 23 shots for L/A, 11 coming in the final period.

The team will begin the first round of the playoffs Wednesday against the Northeast Generals at the Colisee. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
