AUBURN — As a follow-up to its annual College Night on Oct. 19, the Auburn Public Library will host a Financial Aid Night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30.
The first part of the evening will help students better understand the financial aid process and prepare them to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Participants will explore ways in which they can add to college savings and examine key strategies to minimize the cost of college.
Attendees will leave with many practical tools and resources to help them best prepare. This program will be presented by Maria MacDougal, a college access counselor with the Finance Authority of Maine. Although designed for teens and their parents, anyone who is thinking about financing their continuing education is welcome to attend.
Following the financial aid presentation in the Androscoggin Community Room, participants will move to the second floor computer lab for some hands-on instruction on completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
This program will also be led by a representative from the Finance Authority of Maine. To allow for maximum time to work on the FAFSA, attendees should have already applied for and gotten their FSA ID at https://fsaid.ed.gov/npas/index.htm.
Registration is required.
