PARIS — The Board of Selectmen is back to a full five-member board, after voters elected Kathy Richardson and Rusty Brackett on Tuesday.

Bill Miller ran against Richardson for the six-month seat. Richardson received 1,289 votes to Miller’s 1,046.

The seat became available in July after former Selectman Vic Hodgkins resigned and was appointed town manager. The board decided to wait until Nov. 8 to fill his seat.

Richardson thanked voters for their support.

“I do really appreciate all the folks who cast their vote for me,” she said. “It is going to take all of us to take good care of this town.”

Miller could not be reached for comment late Tuesday night.

Brackett ran unopposed for the 18-month seat. He received 2,254 votes.

The seat was vacated by Chairman Mike Risica who moved to Florida in October to work.

“To me to get 2,254 (votes) that is the townspeople supporting me, which I am very thankful and grateful for,” Brackett said. “I was pleased and excited to see I got that many votes even if I was the only one on the ballot.”

He said Town Clerk Liz Knox swore him in Tuesday night so he’s ready for his first meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at the Town Office, 33 Market Square.
