WINTHROP — A community blood drive will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at St. Francis Xavier Parish Hall, Route 133.

Marine Corps League to meet

LEWISTON — The monthly meeting of the Marine Corps League Central Maine Detachment 810 will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at the Lewiston Armory.

All Marines and Fleet Marine Force Corpsman are welcome. The group will also be accepting new associate members.

Entrepreneurship competition slated at Bates

LEWISTON — Bobcat Ventures: Entrepreneurship Competition will be held Saturday, April 2, in the Bates College Muskie Archives, 70 Campus Ave.

The competition is an event designed to nourish the entrepreneurial culture at Bates. Students submit business ideas for judging after fine-tuning them in consultation with business leaders and venture capitalists. Eight teams will compete for an $11,000 grand prize.

Legion plans Saturday public supper

GRAY — The American Legion Auxiliary will host a public supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at 15 Lewiston Road.

The menu will include beans, casseroles and pie for dessert. Admission costs $8 for adults and $4 for children younger than 4.

Pinochle, pitch players welcome 

LEWISTON — Pinochle and pitch card games for seniors are played weekly at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave.

New players are always welcome. Pitch is played at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays. Pinochle is at 1 p.m. on Thursdays. Refresher courses are available in both categories.

The armory is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. You must become a member to play.
