WATERVILLE — The 20th annual Maine State Catholic Charismatic Renewal Conference is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24, at Sacred Heart Church, 72 Pleasant St.
A day of prayer, praise, talks and healing will start at 8 a.m. and conclude with a 2:30 p.m. healing service and Mass. All are welcome to attend the conference, which is free.
Guest speakers include John and Therese Boucher, nationally-known evangelists, and authors of more than 20 books. For more than 40 years they have ministered together, raised a family and served parishes in Massachusetts, Wisconsin, New York and New Jersey.
The day will start with the Rev. Richard P. Rice, liaison to the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Service Committee, Portland Diocese, and former pastor in Sanford, Bath and other Maine areas.
He will present “Laying the Groundwork” and offer the Commitment Prayer.
John Boucher will discuss “From Darkness to Light,” and Therese Boucher will address “Rekindling the Flame, Releasing the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and Sanctifying Gifts.” The Rev. Rice will lead an afternoon healing service and preside at the closing Mass. Music for the day will be provided by Spirit Song, led by David Goolsby, director of the Greater Lincoln Community Choir.
The conference is free, but preregistration is required by Oct. 10 in order for participants to enjoy a free lunch.
