1926 – 2015
LEWISTON — Bertrand O. Berube, 88, of Lewiston, died peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at d’Youville Pavilion after a long illness.
He was born on Dec. 6, 1926, the son of Joseph and Rose Aime Cote, and attended local schools.
Bert worked as a handsewer at Belgrade Shoe and Freemont Shoe for many years until he became disabled in 1965.
He is survived by his loving wife, the former Therese Bourgoin. They would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on Aug. 9.
He also is survived by his six daughters, Cecile Dumont and her husband, Walter, of Lewiston, Doris L’Heureux of Lewiston, Pauline and husband, Joel, of Sinclair, Sue Mercier and husband, Don, of Lewiston, Diane Baldiga of Lewiston, and Louise Andrews and husband, Randy, of Sharpes, Fla.; four sons, Robert Berube and his wife, Debbie, of Greene, Paul Berube and Benjamin Saldua of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, Marc Berube of Litchfield and Ray Berube and his wife, Ann, of Auburn; his brother Normand Berube and his wife, Jeannine, of Lewiston; sister, Laurianne Roderick of Lewiston; his loving grandchildren, Chris Dumont, Tammy Webber, Tony Jipson, Tanya Nielsen, Brian Berube, Todd Berube, Tim Mercier, Craig Mercier, Justin Labbe, Alexandra Hood, Heather Berube, Keith Berube, Kelly Berube, Jake Berube and Denise Andrews.
