The freshman recipient was Abbie Blauvelt. Her parents Tracy and Dave Daigle joined her on stage.
The anonymous teacher who nominated her wrote, “Abbie has outstanding effort and performance. She is an inspiring and well-rounded student. She is a pleasure to work with and always does her best.”
Cam Shaw and Robert McPherson were chosen from the sophomore class. April Farnum and Andrew Gestaut joined Cam on stage. Monica and Bob McPherson also congratulated their son.
“These young men are actively involved in Region 9 and maintain excellent grades. They are very involved in community service for MVHS,” Gilbert announced from their nomination paper.
Ashlynn Young represented the junior class and her stepmother, Deb Stover, and father, Jon Young, were on hand to congratulate her.
According to her nominating teacher, “Ashlynn works hard, she always has her homework done and is prepared for class. She asks great questions to extend her learning. She helps in concessions on a regular basis and is involved in extra-curricular activities.”
Finally, senior Adelle Oswald rounded out the students honored. Her parents Carl Oswald and Annette Nash joined her on stage.
“This young lady is a joy to work with in all aspects. She is mature, responsible and respectful to both staff and peers. She continues to challenge herself with Honors and AP classes and openly admits that she loves to learn,” wrote her nominating teacher.
The students received a MVHS T-shirt and a pass to all MVHS games for the school year.
Every 12 weeks, teachers at Mountain Valley High School select a student from each class to honor.
Gilbert concluded, “I thank all these parents. You are an important part of your student’s success and the reason for them being outstanding.”
