ROXBURY — The Swift River Valley Extension Homemakers met at the Town Office on Oct. 2 for their monthly meeting.
Preparations are being made for their participation in the RES fall fair on Nov. 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Rumford Elementary School.
Members have made a quilt for their fall project and are raffling tickets on this item: one ticket for $2 and three tickets for $5. The quilt will be on display at the fair and the tickets will be on sale at the same time, with the item to be drawn in December, at the group’s meeting on Dec. 4. Tickets are also on sale by all of the group members.
A donation from the sale of these tickets will go toward paying for the quilt supplies and also a donation will be made for the abused and homeless women and children in the Rumford area.
Three smaller items will be raffled on the day of the RES fair: a basket of household and chocolate items, a kitchen caddy filled with kitchen items, and a $25 Hannaford gift certificate.
Members of the Swift River Valley Extension Homemakers meet the first Thursday of the month from September until June. They meet at the Roxbury Town Office from 11:30 a.m. until approximately 1 p.m. New members and ideas are welcome; share or learn a new hobby.
