Maine’s nay-saying, negative and destructive Republican governor has demolished the time-honored legislative process of governing the state of Maine.
Hundreds of thousands of citizens in this great state go to the polls every two years to elect their legislators, both senators and representatives. I have seen, up close, the members of the Legislature and, almost without exception, they are diligent, hard-working citizens who generally represent the public well in Augusta.
Enter Gov. Paul LePage, who does not respect the legislative process and typically vetoes the most critical legislation that would benefit the average citizen, and the poor residents as well.
Gov. LePage has broken the record of any governor in Maine’s history for vetoing legislation. Who is our governor? History may classify him as a “despot” — as the dictionary states — “an absolute ruler;” or “like a king with unlimited powers.”
