AUBURN — Police said a bicyclist was taken to the hospital Monday evening after he was struck by a car at Hotel and Lewiston Junction roads.

According to Lt. Scott Watkins of the Auburn Police Department, Kimberly Polley, 30, of Auburn stopped her 2013 Subaru at the intersection of Hotel and Lewiston Junction roads around 5:32 p.m.

Daniel Cake, 69, of Auburn was riding south on Hotel Road and Polley did not see him and proceeded through the intersection. The car hit Cake and threw him into the roadway, Watkins said.

Watkins said Cake was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
