I enjoyed the editorial about Frank Glazer (Feb. 11).

Another thing that has kept him going — and leaving us all in the dust — is his engaging and generous personality. Every so often, he performs with the Bates College Orchestra. Instead of coming across as an intimidating prima donna during rehearsals, he offers encouragement and makes it fun for all.

And when he plays at Bates, the concerts are usually free. One might have to call ahead for a reservation, but one doesn’t have to be urged to spend their money.

On March 15, Glazer and Professor James Parakilis will perform a double piano concerto by Mozart with the Bates Orchestra.

No charge, but I do recommend that people call for a seat.
