CARRABASSETT VALLEY — On Saturday, Feb. 22, Carrabassett Valley Academy will hold its annual CVA Scholarship Fundraiser (previously known as the Big Raffle and Auction) at the Sugarloaf Inn from 6 to 9 p.m.
This event, which features a raffle as well as a live and silent auction, is now the academy’s only annual event to raise scholarship money; the school hopes to meet its ambitious fundraising goal of $80,000.
In addition to the raffle grand prize drawing for $10,000 which is always a high point of the evening, this event will also serve as the official release of CVA’s new promotional video, featuring information about the athletics and academics at CVA. The auction will also feature a wide range of unique trips, adventures and memorabilia offered by members of the CVA community, including some highly-coveted Olympic merchandise. Auction items may also be viewed and bid online at www.32auctions.com/CVA.
Only 500 raffle tickets will be sold and each ticket includes admission for two to the event, plus food, drink tickets and an auction bid number. Every raffle ticket sold helps support students and gives attendees a chance to win one of the 30 prizes valued at $100 or more and a shot at the $10,000 grand prize.
Tickets are on sale until noon Friday, Feb. 21. To purchase a raffle ticket, visit www.gocva.com/raffle. Tickets can also be purchased at various local businesses including: The Bag, Gepetto’s, Ayotte’s, The Antigravity Complex, Mountainside Real Estate, Sugarloaf’s Competition Center or Carrabassett Valley Academy. Ticket holders need not be present at the event to win.
