Rumford Area Quilters meet

RUMFORD — Rumford Area Quilters will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at the Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street.

All area quilters are invited. See a demonstration on how to transform a shirt into a pillow. Donations are accepted for various organizations. Show and tell always welcome, including finished Mystery Quilt tops.

Dinner, dance for Vito Coulombe

RUMFORD — A spaghetti dinner and dance to benefit cancer patient Vito Coulombe will take place from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Rumford Eagles Hall.

Vito is a resident of Rumford, an avid hunter and fisherman.

He has worked in the community as a top notch mason and for the first time finds himself and his family in need of assistance.

Entertainment will be by DJ Frosty Fever.

A Chinese auction, cookie sale and a raffle for a cord of wood donated by Clayton Miller will take place.

Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for ages 5 and under.

Ice-fishing derby is Feb. 15

ROXBURY — The Mexico Lions Club will hold the 35th annual Larry Mercier Memorial ice-fishing derby from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Roxbury Pond.

Cost is $10.

Cash prizes will be awarded for top three pickerel and bass, largest trout and perch. Grand prize is $2,000.

A lunch wagon will be available. Rain date will be Feb. 16.

Snowmobile ride to wind tower

ANDOVER — The Snow Valley Sno Goers will have a Roxbury wind tower ride on Route 120 at 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 16.

The ride will start at the club house off Route 5.

Cost is $10 per rider, $8 for club members, and free for children under 10. Lunch is included.

Red Hat Mommas plan Mystery Dinner

!MEXICO — The February meeting of The Red Hat Mommas will be a Mystery Dinner at the “Green Church” in Mexico at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27.

Cost of dinner is $10. Dues will also be collected for 2014.
