RUMFORD — A public hearing on the unclassified accounts budget will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the Municipal Building.
The hearing will follow a selectmen meeting at 6 p.m. to sign the unclassified budget warrant.
The unclassified account budget is the only municipal budget that voters have yet to approve. They turned down all 12 money articles on June 11; approved articles for health and sanitation, the Rumford Public Library, public service and debt service in July; and rejected eight remaining budget articles on Aug. 27.
On Oct. 8, voters approved seven budget articles. The unclassified accounts budget was defeated in a 478-478 tie.
The unclassified accounts budget includes money for workers’ compensation, unemployment insurance, health insurance, liability insurance and contributions for Social Security/FICA.
