Glorification Singers perform
RUMFORD — On Saturday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m., the Glorification Singers will perform at the Rumford United Methodist Church on Linnell Street.
This outstanding male quartet has performed here for the past several years and audiences have enjoyed their beautiful music of well-known selections as well as original compositions. Their presentations have been described as uplifting, harmonious, melodic and inspiring.
There will be no admission charged but a love offering will be taken for the group. The public is invited to attend.
Cemeteries closing for winter
ROXBURY — The Town of Roxbury Cemeteries will be closing for the winter months.
The cemetery committee would like to remind everyone that they need to remove flower arrangements and decorations by Oct. 31 or they will be removed.
Historical group annual meeting
CARTHAGE — On Tuesday, Oct. 15, the Carthage Historical Society will hold its annual meeting at the museum. There will be a 5:30 potluck supper with the meeting to follow.
All members are urged to attend as this is the annual meeting.
Girl Scouts information
RUMFORD/PERU — Girl Scouts of Maine will host parent information and registration meetings in the Rumford/Mexico/Peru/Dixfield area.
Meetings will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Rumford Public Library and at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Old Peru Elementary School cafeteria.
Girls and adults are invited to attend the meeting to find out about the many different and fun ways today’s girls are participating in Girl Scouting and how the programs and activities inspire them to reach their personal best. Participants will also learn about the flexible options and benefits of becoming a Girl Scout volunteer.
