1924 – 2013

LEWISTON — Sylvia Leone Pacios, 88, of Auburn, died July 25, in Lewiston.

She was born Oct. 16, 1924, in Lewiston to Chester and Pearl Severance Lothrop. She moved to Boston at age 5. She married Robert K. Pacios on April 13, of 1944 in Boston, whom she met at age 15. They moved to Maine in 1950.

Sylvia was a member of the Woman’s Literary Union, the Women’s Hospital Association, Community Concerts and the Patronesses of St Mary’s Hospital. She loved playing bridge and belonged to several bridge clubs. Her greatest pleasure came from shopping, shopping and shopping. She also enjoyed eating out and her Manhattans. Sylvia’s favorite thing was to be surrounded by her family. She especially loved watching her great-grandchildren and their carefree nature.

She leaves behind her loving husband; her son, Robert Pacios Jr. and wife, Suzanne, of Lisbon; daughter, Joanne Blais and husband, Michael, of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Melissa Pacios of Lisbon, Jennifer Pacios Martin and husband, Christopher, of Attleboro, Mass., Jessica Blais Hanscombe and husband, Kevin, of South Portland and Patrick Pacios Blais and wife, Kimberly, of Lewiston; nine great-grandchildren, Charlie Barton, Justin, Camden and Nathan Hanscombe, Hailey and Megan Martin, and Addison, Owen and Emma Blais; her sister, Sally Pacios and husband, Richard, of Pembroke, Mass.; and her brother, Joseph Lothrop and wife, Janet, of Stoughton, Mass.

She was predeceased by her parents; five sisters; and one brother.
