Thrift shop having week-long sale
PARIS — Alpha & Omega Ministries Inc., dba Alpha & Omega Thrift Shop, is now located at 527 Park St., South Paris.
The shop is having a Memorial Day yard sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Wednesday, May 29.

Clothing center is open
HARTFORD — The Hartford Clothing Center will be open from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays, June 1 and 15. The center is located across from the church.
Turkey supper to benefit boy
PARIS — A turkey supper to benefit Nicholas Spring will take place from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at VFW Post 9787, Lower Main Street.
Nicholas is an 8-year old cancer patient.
Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Take-out meals will be available.
Auxiliary to hold garage, plant sale
SUMNER — The Sumner Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will hold the annual garage, bake and plant sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at the fire station, Route 219.
Refreshments will be on sale and there will be a door prize.

Church to host gosepl singers
SUMNER — The Congregational Church of East Sumner, Route 219, will host the East Wind Gospel Singers at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 1. Donations will be accepted.

Extensionists planning yard sale
HEBRON — East Hebron Extension Homemakers will hold the annual yard sale, rain or shine, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 1 and 2, at McCafferty’s Greenhouse, Townsend Road, East Hebron.
Proceeds will support community projects, which include knitting hats for the Dempsey Center, helmet hats for troops in Afghanistan, lap robes for nursing homes and monetary donations to Good Shepherd and other organizations. For more information, call Anna at 966-3076.
Container planter workshop slated
OXFORD — The McLaughlin Garden and Homestead is sponsoring a container planting workshop at Goodwin’s Nursery, Route 26, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1.
Garden volunteers Becky Burke and Norma Jean Webber will instruct and guide participants on how to choose plants and how to plant them in a container for lasting bloom. They will discuss color and old favorite plants as well as new ideas, and they will give advice on plant combinations.
Participants should bring their own containers. The cost is $10 a person plus the cost of plant materials.
