LEWISTON — In response to the fires that have recently happened in the neighborhood, Trinity Church will open from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday for anyone who wants to come to pray or talk or sit quietly.
Any parishioners and friends who can join in being present are encouraged to come help and/or bring some munchies. The women’s center will bring some art materials for mandala making and collage, etc.
The church will offer a respectful, non-anxious and safe place for those who need to be held in body and spirit. Those of all religions, or none, are welcomed to come.
Trinity, in its commitment to the surrounding neighborhood, is making its facility available as part of its commitment to the B-Street neighborhood. Trinity has a long history of doing so having helped start and support The Jubilee Center, The Center for Wisdom’s Women and Tree Street Youth.
It also has a bereavement ministry – offering memorial services to anyone in the neighborhood who does not have a church home, and the option to have ashes placed in their community memorial garden. The church also provides space for community concerts and other programs.
Trinity Church is at 247 Bates St., on the corner of Bates and Spruce, next to Kennedy Park – the stone church with a red door and steeple.
