1913 – 2013

FARMINGTON — Mabel Almira Pratt, 99, of Weld, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 13, at the Sandy River Center.

She was born on March 29, 1913, in Weld, a daughter of Charles B. and Florence (Ladd) Swett. She attended local schools and graduated from Weld High School.

On July 4, 1929, she married Guy Pratt in Dixfield, and they made their home in Weld.

She worked at Woodworkers of Weld for nine years before going to work at G.H. Bass in Wilton, from which she retired in 1978, after 20 years. Almira also served as the treasurer for the town of Weld for 23 years, as well as working with the Weld Extension.

She enjoyed working around her home in Weld, mowing the lawn and maintaining her gardens.

She is survived by her only son, Rodney Pratt and his wife, Greta, of Weld; grandchildren, Scott Pratt and his wife, Nancy, and Leanna Pratt, all of Weld; great-grandchildren, Heather and Travis Pratt, and Jessi Sawyer and her husband, Scott, all of Weld; and great great-grandchildren, Summer and Quinn Sawyer of Weld.

She was predeceased by her husband, Guy, in 1962; and her sister, Elizabeth Willoughby.
