SUMNER — Two people were sent to a hospital following a head-on crash Tuesday night on Route 219.

Sgt. Matt Baker of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office said Robert Fox, 41, of West Paris was traveling westbound when he lost control of his 2001 Volvo station wagon at about 6 p.m. It went into a sideways skid and into the eastbound lane where it hit a truck driven by Maureen Searles, 56, of Sumner.

Baker said both drivers were transported to a hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation.

Fox’s wagon and Searles’ 2006 Toyota pickup were demolished.
