LEWISTON — On Saturday, Sept. 29, the Royal Oak Room will host the second annual Dancing in the Harvest Moonlight event, featuring the Moon Dawgs, one of Lewiston-Auburn’s original Pal Hop bands.
A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to John F. Murphy Homes Inc., which services adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder.
Last year, displayed 1950s vintage automobiles set the tone for the fundraiser.
Besides music by the Moon Dawgs, the event also features a cash bar with season-themed cocktails.
Tickets are available for $25 per person; limited tables of 10 are also available. Call 333-3242.
The Royal Oak Room, named for its elegant ambiance and historical details, is part of the newly restored Ironhorse Court property at 1 Bates St. Once the waiting room for the former train station, the Royal Oak Room now has a grand ballroom and includes many original architectural features such as a 20-foot high tray ceiling, arched windows and rich oak wall panels.
