July 4 events in town park
CARRABASSETT VALLEY — A July 4th celebration will take place starting at noon Wednesday in the town park.
Food booths and the town pool will be open. A children’s parade will begin at 12:30 p.m. Music by Kathy’s Karaoke will be from 1 to 5 p.m. A magic show will take place at 1:30 p.m.
Children can take part in arts and crafts projects from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Firetruck rides with the chief and staff will be available from 3 to 5 p.m. Rock and roll music by the band Coyote Drifters will take place from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
Fireworks by Central Maine Pyrotechnics will happen at 9:15 p.m.
Remember to bring a chair, towel, swimsuit, tennis rackets and sunscreen.
Clearwater Lake boat parade July 6
FARMINGTON — The Clearwater Lake Improvement Association will hold its boat parade at 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 6. Anyone interested in participating or watching, the parade forms at the “head” of the lake. Dress up your boat and join.
For those who want a new experience, join the non-motorized public paddle at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at the head of Clearwater Lake.
Cary Library pie sale is July 7
WAYNE — A pie sale will take place from 9 a.m. until sold out, Saturday, July 7, at Cary Memorial Library, 17 Old Winthrop Road. Come early for best selection.
Summer Camp in the Park
STRONG — Summer Camp in the Park for children ages 5 to 11 will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 9 through July 13 at Lance Corporal Scott Paul Memorial Town Park.
There will be sports, games, crafts, fishing, insects, water fun and animal day.
The cost is $65 per child and includes a camp T-shirt, lunch, drinks and a barbecue on Friday. All profits will benefit the children’s playground at the park.

Underwood summer story hours
FAYETTE — The Underwood Memorial Library will begin its summer story hours at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 12. They will continue until Aug. 23.

Farmington Grange public supper July 14
FARMINGTON — On Saturday, July 14, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., the Farmington Grange will hold a public supper. This will be before the monthly contra dance.
The menu will be grilled regular and meatless hamburgers and hot dogs, baked beans, an assortment of summer salads and desserts. Dining will be indoors. The cost is $7 for ages 13 and up, $3 for ages 12 to 5, under 5 free. There will be a separate admission to the contra dance. There will be a beginners and family dance from 6:30 to 7:30.
