Food drive
FARMINGTON — The carriers at the Farmington Post Office will participate in the 19th annual food drive on Saturday, May 14.
You can help stamp out hunger. Just put nonperishable food items in a bag and place it in or by your mailbox. Your letter carrier will pick it up and deliver to a local food bank. There will also be a food drop in the lobby of the post office from Wednesday, May 11, until May 14.
Search & Rescue
KINGFIELD — The Franklin Search & Rescue monthly meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, at Kingfield Fire Station. Open to all.
Franklin Search & Rescue, or F-SAR, is an all volunteer organization of about 25 men and women from all walks of life.
FSAR’s mission statement is “To render aid to persons in distress, administer emergency care, perform activities relative to the rescue of persons in distress in a remote wilderness setting and promote wilderness safety and backcountry education to the general public.”

Bean supper
FARMINGTON — A baked bean and casserole supper will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Falls Road.
Meatloaf dinner
JAY — A free public supper will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at Knights of Columbus Hall, 148 Main St. Doors open at noon.
Menu includes meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, soup, salad, bread, veggies and dessert. Donations accepted but not necessary.
Handicap entrance: Come in back door, push and hold buzzer button on stairwell wall; you will hear it, we will come help you.
