On Thanksgiving Day, chef and owner Gary Szpara, left, and owner Steve Etheridge, right, of Rooster’s Roadhouse Restaurant and Pub in Bethel, presented a check for $2,000 to Nina Wheeler of Bethel for her grassroots charity Christmas for Families. The charity supports scores of local children during the holiday season by providing families in need with clothing, toys and other gifts. The local restaurant’s staff and customers raise funds for local children’s charities throughout the year at special customer events, such as their annual Oscars Party and a recently held Customer Appreciation Party.
